Wealth is above being rich. Rich is having lots of disposable income and spending it constantly like water. You hear about the rich and how they go poor because they don't think like the wealthy. Wealth is about investing, long term, lifetimes of savings, having fortunes, inheritance, true assets, appreciation, etc. That is wealth first off. Second, an extra $950 a month wouldn't even be considered rich. What can you do with an extra $950 a month? Not much. If you are smart you will save it all. In 5 years you have 60k. While it's nice to have an extra $1,000 per month it's by no means defining the words rich or wealthy. Perhaps 'above average' would be more fitting term for Americans.
