    Well the problem is that a lot of their strongholds in these countries are just regular old villages, especially in Afghanistan. We would get shot at from villages that would harbor these terrorists. Some villages harbored them because they supported them and some harbored them out of fear. Either way, destroying the entire village isn't an option for our nation.

    My platoon did burn down a particular village twice in one deployment because they kept harboring terrorists and they would occasionally shoot at us from the village. We destroyed the houses, their winter food supplies, their livestock, and even their mosque one of the times. That seemed to work, the insurgents didn't shoot at us there for awhile, but two months later they were at it again. The more we killed the more stood up against us.

    When I say stronghold I'm not talking about a village. If it is a village that's the issue then naturally we would use the appropriate response. This does not mean that Iraq would have zero responsibility in handling this.

    I never went to iraq but i did go to Afghanistan and it is a shitt hole. Its like 100Bc there just backward thinking savages. That are not in the real world of 2014.
