Acne on TRT

Hello! I have been on TRT for the last 10 months because of a pituitary tumor. I take 100mg of Test Cypionate every week. Since I started taking the shots, I started suffering with acne on my chest, shoulder and a little on my back. I don't know what else to do. I have been to the dermatologist, we tried all kind of antibiotics, creams, gels, diet change, etc.. but it doesn't go away. It has improved, but not enough. I used to have a very bad problem with acne on my face, but I took accutane when i was 15 and got rid of it.
My dermatologist is a little afraid of putting me on accutane cause of my pituitary tumor.. She is not sure if it can have any bad effect on it. On the other hand, my endocrinologist recently told me she doesn't think so. What do you guys think? What did those that had the same problem do to get rid of the acne? Does it go away on its on if I wait more?

I'd love to hear your inputs, my next appointment with the dermatologist is in two weeks.

Have you had your estradiol levels measured lately? It seems that some guys on TRT experience acne because of elevated E2.

I've got bacne aswell now. Been on TRT for a year & it only started showing up about 4 months ago, but it won't go away, lol! Just did my 1 year blood work & my E2 sensitive was 27...pulled on day 3. I inject 2x a week.

Austinite has a protocol for acne, could be worth a try.

It Austin's protocol doesn't do the trick, try Dial bar soap. It generally takes care of the problem for me.

My e2 is 40 (range is 15-42).
I'm taking some primula oil. My endocrinologist said it is supposed to help with the e2. But I don't think that's the problem. A few months ago my e2 was 25. And I already had acne...

I'm thinking about somethink... Can High vitamin D cause acne? Cause my levels are very high due to suplementing (since last year on order of another doctor). They are 108 (max is 100). I stopped supplementing since last month..

Normally, high E2 is controlled with adex or some other AI. In your case where you have a pituitary tumor you need to be really careful with what you put in your body. There are pretty knowledgeable vets on the forum. One of them will probably know. I am also on TRT and when I got my E2 under control with adex, .25mg eod, my acne subsided considerably.

It sounds like you're in the same boat I am. I've been acne prone since a teenager, and with trt acne came back bad on my back and shoulders. Its not e2, I've had it checked several times and have never been too high. Topical treatments (gel,cream,soap,etc..) don't do a thing for me, austinites protocol helped a little, but not much. I finally resorted to Accutane about 4 months ago and that's the only thing that's working. Its not completely cleared up, but its way better and steadily improving. I went with a low dose at only 10mg/day. It takes a bit longer to kick in that way but the side effects are almost nothing so far. Good luck, I feel your pain.

My experience with acne is that once your body adjusts to you T dose, it will gradually subside. BOTH my wife and I developed acne - in some very private places - when we first started TRT, and after our bodies adjusted it subsided. I hope this gives you some comfort. You might also talk to your doctor about clindimycin topical solution - not ointment. It works wonders on new and developing breakouts. I've never seen anything like it. Stops things in their tracks.

Thanks 2sox! Also, I sure hope your right about the body adjusting to it with time. Acne has been the only downfall I've found to trt. Its certainly not bad enough to outweight the benefits, but it has been a nuisance.

^^^^^ This. I had the same experience after starting TRT. I just let mine run it's course and after about 8 months I was back to normal.

Benzoyl peroxide, such as Brevoxyl or Triaz.

Topical and oral antibiotics, such as clindamycin, doxycycline,
