If you're bulking you're looking to gain as much quality muscle as possible and MAINTAIN it. If you start a bulk and then immediately start cutting you will lose the muscle you gained. When you bulk you will gain some fat and that's unfortunately part of the process. My wife HATES when I bulk and is begging me not to. HAHA But seriously, focus on building the muscle and then trying to retain as much as possible post cycle. If you bulk and gain 12lbs. of muscle you'll be lucky to keep 7lbs of that after PCT. If you bulk to 10lbs. but then cut at the same time for a net of 5lbs. you'll only retain 2-3lbs. post PCT.

yes, make sense. since my last cycle was pure cutting. i have kept most of the muscle mass i've gained and i managed to stay lean (under 10%) with my diet.
i guess, i'll have to make it pure bulking cycle.
how can i minimize the water and sodium retention that comes with dbol? i hate that feeling.
You can still build muscle during a cut cycle too but during a cut your goal is typically to look as good as possible during that cut and not necessarily long term. Bulking is something you "typically" do for LONG-TERM gains so make the most out of it. If your net in 2 months post cycle is 2lbs. of muscle cycling is not worth the risk AT ALL.
