I'm not asking for a PCT protocol I just see where everyone says you need both but from my understanding they do the same thing do they not ?

yes planning the right pct is just as important as a well planned cycle

Clomid and Nov should be used for pct on any cycle. The idea is to recover and tren seems to be especially tough to bounce back from...even when you are on trt, it seems like it still takes a bit to start feeling like yourself again. When I used to do a pct I found I responded better if I ran the pct an extra week or so for a total of 5-6 weeks. But that's me.

Yes as Gyno prevention or until you get your AI dialed in then drop the Nolva until PCT.
No need to run it from start to finish on cycle unless you have gyno issues.
