Now you talking, ok if you like volume why don't you try condensing all those working sets into one but hit a higher rep range and implement rest pause so at the end of that one set you have done the same amount of reps what you would normally do in your 4-5 sets??

Then we will try and reduce your rep range slowly and before you know you'll be pure HIT lol

I am training arms tomorrow. I will come up with a plan and give it a shot. Heck why not? If it sparks some extra growth I will take it!

Since my current goal is EOD lifting at a minimum, tomorrow is back for me. Delts finally calmed down while I slept yesterday. Traps are starting to complain though.

My back seems to respond well, so it is a lift that I always hate to walk away from.

its such a big muscle group if worked correctly it can make me sick like working legs. Most my training partners won't train back with me cause they can't make it halfway through the workout before they get sick

Well my doc gave me the green light to start training again finally. No restrictions. I'm 100% again functionally... I have to get back the 40 or so lbs I lost, however. Lol. Started training again last weekend. I destroyed myself with the basics all week - squats, deads, bench, lat pulls. Got my diet back in order too. I already gained ~4 lbs back in a week. Muscle memory. Gotta love it. Believe it or not I can see the difference in the mirror too and I feel so much healthier. Perhaps I needed as rest. I was going balls out for nearly a year. I'll be 45 this year. Maybe I was pushing too hard.

Right now, 201lbs, 18%bf (not very accurate, handheld imp. test) but since that's my control, it's a constant so I can measure the difference in the future by the same stick.

I forgot how much fun this board is. Now to read the 200+ pages I have to catch up on since I last trained...

    Good to be back!

Not bad, aside from having necrotic pancreatitis, ilius, taking all nutrients via picc line directly into my SVC, having a vast DVT infiltrate the venous network on the right side of my torso and upper arm and unable to lift for almost 7 months... I'm good!

    How are you? haha!

Just mixed up a coffee and protein shake. Will drink it when I get off of work, go home and grab a small bowl of oats and then head to the shop to lift.

Back day today and I switched up the routine for the week, lowered the weight a bit and upped the intensity with 45sec rest between sets. God damn that got my heart rate up quick, 6 exercises of 4x12 in under 45 min. Felt great, my back and bi's were burning bi's still sore from Sat. Giving my joints and conective tissue a break from the heavy weight for a week, the CNS needed a break too. I haven't been sleeping well either, my rotators have been sore from the weight for a couple weeks. Weighed in at 271 this morn mid section was tight, felt really dry. This week should bring out some vascularity and etch in some shape, maybe spark some new growth.

Adding in some winny, did a couple weeks of proviron and it has run out so will continue with a dht base in winny for the remainder of the cycle. It is a liquid but was thinking of taking it orally at 50mg a day like the proviron, any thoughts on this?

Ok just back from doing bi's stretching and ccc for a warm up.

    Ccc 1 working 2forced 2 neg

Incline db curls 1 working DD +RP on the first drop

Seated db curls 1 working 1 drop + RP

Rope hammer curls 3 straight sets

Great session i did the straight sets on the hammer curls because they were fried i only got 8-10 reps anyway so it was still in the rep range.

    HIT baby HIT

Just thought I'd give report on my hit effort. Workout went well. 24 hours later now, usual muscle soreness after a good back workout, but was noticeable increase in pump and soreness during workout. Few times during workout especially going for drop reps I literally had to let go of handles cause of back muscles in agony. That's a first.
So after some rotator cuff warm up and some light muscle stretching, I started with
medium width grip pull downs 2 sets feel, got 12 first set, went a plate more, got 10. Upped it two plates, got 7 reps and dropped it twice for another 4 reps total.
Hammer rows next. 2 feel, 10 reps each, loaded machine with couple more plates, 6 reps, double drop for 4 more reps. Back literally cramped up on this, a deep burn in my mid back. Brilliant feel
Cable rows then, 2 feel, done real slow, feeling the lats allowing the handles slowly move from my body, then bam, back to my tummy. Loaded it up some more and same fashion got 6 good reps, double drop for another couple reps, then did a rest pause for 2 more sets. Really good set.
Barbell rows to finish. I have a compressed lower disc problem to can't go too heavy with these. Did a light set of 20 and then 3 more sets of progressive weights of about 12 reps each, really going for the contraction. DONE.
Back was solid then, walking like I had those air lats you tend to see the 18 year olds with at this time of year. But hey, I'm 45.
Sitting here eating oats and tuna and planning my biceps and calves workout in 90 min from now.

Stretched lower body and back for about 20 minutes and knocked out a couple of sets of crunches.

W/G pulldown w/ underhand grip-2 w/u, Work-7.5,drop,3.5, drop,3.5. Really slow negatives on the half reps. Toying w/ the idea of bumping this weight up a smidge?
    C/G pulldown w/ stirrup handle-1 w/u, Work-4.5, drop,1.5, drop,3.5
    Straightjacket stretches
    Tbar rows-1 w/u, Work-7,drop,2.5,drop,3.5
Low pulley row w/ V handle-1 w/u, Work-7,drop,3.5,drop,3.5+. Very slow neg. on last half rep
    Toe touches
    Deads-2 w/u, Work1-7 good reps @ a new weight. Work 2-10 reps @ my second w/u weight.
D'bell rows off flat bench- 8.5 reps per side.
Complete and total burn from lats down to top of glutes.

44 minutes not including the crunches and stretching. Really happy about the new weights on the deads. Now I'm comfortable that, w/ sufficient stretching, I can push them a little more occasionally. Definitely am going to get an appointment w/ the deep tissue lady soon.
Had a whey iso shake post lift, hit the shower, and just finished 7 egg whites w/1 oz. mozzarella cheese and a small baked/nuked red potato.

    Shoulders tonight.

    Usual rc warm ups.

Seated hammerstrength presses 2 warm ups and 2 heavy sets and one drop. The pain was great on the heavy sets. One drop set and forced reps very sore.

Arnie presses was warmed up so straight into two heavy sets with one dropset.

Seated side laterals one heavyset was fatigued and one dropset shoulders where screaming with pain.

Front raises one seat and one drop love the concentration of these.

Then to finish shrugs two sets to finish was fcked.

Home to refeed steak and rice and peas feel good.
