They didn't snipe enemies from a safe distance and then laugh about it on tv. My great uncle caught several machine gun wounds in his torso while creeping up on a fox nest with a grenade. He had to see the doctor regularly just to get his urethra cleaned out so he pee, since he had so much scar tissue coming out of his system- right up until he died. He didn't go around bragging about all of the Japs and Krauts he killed. He did what he had to do and didn't tell bullshit stories to glorify himself. He was a humble and brave man.

If this shallow piece of propaganda is your idea of a real American hero, you can proudly wave your flag while declaring, "Murica!!!". Kyle wasn't fighting for anyone's freedom in the Middle East, and he's no hero in by book.

Don't get sucked up into the Hollywood glamour and fiction.

    1. ur great uncle sounds like a good man.

    2. my grandfather is a WWII Vet and my dad is a Vietnam Vet.

    3. if u read my post above, u will see that what qualifies kyle as a hero in my book is not the film, but his 4 tours of duty as well as his documented military accolades: Chris Kyle - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Chris Kyle has 160+ confirmed kills
Chris Kyle served 4 tours of duty
Chris Kyle is a highly decorated SEAL
    4. "sniping enemies from a SAFE DISTANCE"??????????? smh.... i would say once u step off a plane onto foreign soil at war, safety goes out the window dude.

    5. i find it incredibly presumptuous and disrespectful for u to speculate as to what a dead american hero was or was not fighting for... certainly his depth of character extends beyond media coverage and articles written about him.

    6. "Don't get sucked up into the Hollywood glamour and fiction": isnt it interesting how u try to impose upon me being caught up in the "hollywood glamour and fiction" but yet u continue to post links to media coverage as a basis to justify your position. maybe u should take ur own advice.

ill say it one more time for you. what makes the man a hero is the fact that:
    1. he killed 160+ enemies, while simultaneously saving american soldiers
    2. served 4 tours of duty at war risking his life for our country

he even continued to work with soldiers suffering from all the crap they had to go thru over there, which ultimately led to his death.

like Lovbyts said and i reiterated: people deal with stuff differently. what he said, and did after the fact has no bearing on his prior ACTIONS AT WAR.

whether or not Chris Kyle was a hero is not even a subject for debate. it is a sad thing our country has deteriorated into such a state where people actually believe it is a subject for debate.
