That's not the addiction though. That's how we justify continuing the addiction. The addiction is the rush you get from putting the money on the line. A real gambling addict doesn't really give a shit if he wins or loses the thrill is the same. Well I shouldn't say they don't care if they lose, losing is the dreaded suck that you're risk experiencing. It's only after it's cost you enough that you start hoping to lose everything just so you can stop the gambling. I never went as low as you have in my addiction to gaming, but it's pretty fvcking powerful. And yeah it's every bit as addictive as any illegal drug on the market.

Unless you've had the addiction yourself you shouldn't really comment, you cannot possibly know what goes on inside the head of an addicted gambler, just like these therapists who can claim to help, how can they cure me when they don't know what the addiction is ? Apart from reading about it in a book. read my earlier posts, and to question my addiction is below the belt, there are many triggers and multiple reasons why I gambled, and sometimes not having conscious control about when, how or why I gambled, it starts with putting money on the line this is the fun part, they glamorise it to draw you in. Like I said previously I would gamble hoping to lose everything so I could not gamble anymore. Gambling is a progressive incurable terminal emotional illness, imagine me saying that to someone in the street or asking for help ?

My mother has a gambling problem! She will waste 1000s of $$$ for nothing! She has caused so many problems within our family it's Horrible! My poor dad is just at the end it seems and she continues to receive all these offers for free shit and deals that she thinks it's something great! So selfish... Addictive personality? She is the poster child... When I was younger it's was Rx drugs! Then drinking! Now this... Smh

I had quite the problem with gaming. For me, it was the thrill and that uneasy stomach feeling and the relief after the decision on the bet was made that would bring me back to it. I think you and I probably have quite a few parallels in our problems. For a while, I'd justify it by attempting to be a card counter or by "cheating" at dice by trying to roll the dice straight until they just barely touch the wall. But it was all me giving myself an excuse to put the money on the line. If I got ahead, when I walk away from the table, I'd feel the equivilant of a nicotine fit until I got back to the tables. When I eventually would lose, I'd drive home thinking about what I could've had if I just didn't do that. Then on payday do the same ****ing thing over again.

When I run deca cycles, I really have the urge to gamble. I used to think it was either me being crazy, but I've been looking in to it. Some of the drugs we use to control the prolactin I've been reading can make the compulsion to gamble even worse.

I can never forget the sick feeling of losing that months salary, not being able to afford to pay bills, mortgage and car lease. That's what stops me from going back once I had broken the cycle.

It strikes me that so many of us have an addiction issue. like many of you, i had (have - every day is a challenge) my issues, and i almost lost everything - career, money, wife, family. fortunately i had an understanding boss and a wife who stood by me (it amazes and inspires me that she stuck it out after all i put her through). I've been good for almost 5 years now, and frankly this (lifting, nutrition, sups) is part of my therapy.

it was VERY hard breaking the bad habits - took me two years of trying, and i had to remove all the triggers and come to grips with the root(s) of the issue. for me, it's my nature. intense pursuit of the limits. i just had to redirect to this (lifting, nutrition, sups), and i took up motorcycle racing... that helps too.

I have smoked for 17 years then quit cold turkey when my daughter was born for 2 years. Went to Thailand and woke up with a pack of cigarettes next to me that had only 2 left in the pack. I started smoking again for another year then quit again. Now I have an expensive habit towards Nicotine Gum that I cant break, however I have started making headway by drinking less and chewing less expensive bubble gum, however the rush of the Nicotine Gum still has me craving it hourly.
