Ok so let me get this straight..... - Linux is free - computers come with windows or Mac - windows and Mac cost $$ - I need a search engine to download Linux? - I need to buy windows or Mac to have a search engine to download Linux Where did I go wrong?

you can get about any linux distribution you need from distrowatch and most linux distribution come with Firefox already installed to surf the net

I've been dual booting chrome os and linux xfce for the last two years. Linus is great, but unless you understand CLI it's not user friendly.

IMO linux gives you a cute mascot (Tux below) and enough rope to hang yourself with lol.

once you understand apt-get or whatever package manager have along with adding the correct repositorys it's really pretty simple but I have been using linux now for more then 10 years so it seems pretty native to me
