    Darknet/darkweb via Tor

Anyone familiar with the deep dark web? Stumbled upon a few marketplaces that sell gh, steroids, drugs, etc. Just curious if anyone here has looked into that :P

Yes, it was pretty much busted a while back and reported now being ran as a way to bust buyers.

BTW remember there is no source checking so you might want to edit part of your post where you are asking about specifics.

They're more reliable but at a bigger risk....There is less contact between you and them....It's a whole different demographic of people you start to deal with....

Oh I know I'm not talking about any specific sources. Just in general on the dark net. And I see. I don't think I'd use that method, just wanted to see who else had info

Yeah i mean there isn't necessarily something like silk anymore that you can point to and say "okay that's where i'm gonna order from" it's usually just hit or miss and the miss is much worse than just getting undressed gear hahaha i know someone who is doing 2 years right now because of an incident involving something like that :/

^^^ There are still dozens of markets like silkroad.

It is legit; although the government tends to infiltrate it nowadays when they got nothing better to do. It is almost universally accepted that silkroad 2 was a US intelligence setup to bust some druggies.

Many of the smaller markets still have very reliable vendors and don't seem to get any LE involvement. Prices may be a bit higher due to less competition

i understand the whole premise of the dark web is that your ip address is masked and thus you are anonymous. if so, then the only way to get 'busted' would be to engage in an actual transaction for illegal items with a site that is actually a cover for law enforcement.

What i mean is there is no popular name floating around anymore that you know is 100% reliable...With silk that is what everyone would go to...Now it's more hit or miss...NOt saying there isn't anything good

If you dont want IP tracked you need to do some research on TOR.

I would also suggest researching exit nodes revealing IP's, using TOR is not enough and many exit nodes can reveal IP's and are run by FBI/NSA etc. I would say a safer alternative is to use a laptop running TOR browser and NOT USING your own connection and instead using some random WiFi

The smaller markets might *seem* to not have LE involvement but instead you have investigators working for other companies investigating counterfeits and theft of IP and those investigators do the leg work and technical stuff and then they ask LE to get involved. If someone is selling a product to a small market and it's made by Lilly, they have a team that makes buys from multiple vendors to confirm if product is real or counterfeit and gathers evidence and then hands off the case to LE to see if they want to get involved.

All you need to do is buy a mobile hotspot . ATT sierra and get a pay as you go plan. 25 dollars for 2 gbs of data per month. Pay cash for it and dont give your real name.
Use a clean laptop soley for such purposes of discretion. NEVER use a static home IP address or any physical address.
And yes, TOR sites are still able to show your real IP. Tors are used mainly to get past blocked websites. Not used for identity concealment.
You try to use a public IP such as Starbucks, you are still in range of cameras in parking lots and security cameras in the areas. I know its getting a little over board with the paranoia but if youre gonna do something, do it right.

What i do not understand is how governments claim they get hacked an loose secrets. Why don't they just not access the internet? Would that not solve the problem of loosing sensitive information?

If you are competent on how to remain invisible on the dark web then you shouldn't have any issues. You require a fairly developed VPN provider that is Tor-friendly and doesn't practice the activity of using server storage. Quiet a few VPN's offer adequate encryption, but paradoxically store your use on servers for however long they state in the small details.

Some sites that pertain to the illegal realm of dealing won't properly function unless you follow adhere to specific requirements. The SilkRoad is still up and functioning, but it has dramatically changed. IMO, I never trusted it's ability to maintain anonymity of site traffic. I don't really know a whole lot, but even if you were using a VPN you could still ignorantly open an e-mail that injects a key logger. I could be wrong.

I stopped my subscription to VPN availability a while ago, but it was pretty interesting thinking about how it works. The good VPN providers work out of countries that never cooperate with authorities or are notorious for accentuating their secrecy. Off the top of my head I know Thailand, Sweden, Netherlands, Russia..

They are atrocious for online gaming from my experiences. I'd have outrageous ping all the time.

Because then you just have a giant file drawer on a computer. Pretty useless for research, updates, sharing info, etc.
