i wish i had someone willing to give me more money! and what is a bonus? i say ask for 30-40%, that should cover any headaches that arise on the way. no money is worth a lot of stress, so if you and your family are happy, stay happy

Interesting point. As the decision relates to family, I'm home way less now than I was when traveling all over the country. I'm much closer to home, but got an apartment in the city when I got this job so I don't have to deal with nightmare traffic everyday. I go back Friday's and leave back to the city on Sunday's and gone all week. That doesn't make the HAW happy, but she's supportive (as always) and we have a 5 year plan. Our oldest is off to college now and the youngest will be in 5 years, at which time we can easily downsize, move to the city and save a ton of case. I estimate an annual 18% savings when this happens but it only happens if I stay with my current company. (We own apartments and I can live in them for free)
