Nothing in this proposed executive order will do anything that's not already done except for the mental health actions, that's the whole point of this entire thing. It has nothing to do with guns. This new executive order will allow a physician to report anything he deems concerning to the federal government. That is opening a very large door. Hopefully the courts will strike this executive order down, but the courts are hit and miss these days.
you don't need to go through a background check or anything to get a gun at a show in most states. I am not legally allowed to own guns, yet I can go to a gun show in most states, hand somebody cash, and walk out with a gun.

    I enjoy gun shows.

*I got a felony for having an empty vial of test-e in my truck. It technically should not have been a felony but I was stupid and plead guilty anyways.

The gun show loophole as it's called is a little misleading. You're right, an individual selling a gun at a gun show isn't required to do a background check. Only dealers, gun dealers, are required to do background checks. At a gun show, at least most gun shows I've been to, most of the booths are made up of retailers. Granted, you're correct, if you buy from an individual who isn't a retailer most states don't require a background check.
