I have seen more monitors come in with an abrasive attitude and run newbies off than regular members lately.
How many have you ran away lately Songdog?

Being abrasive to a newbie at all will send them packing. I have kept score.

If they are not handled with respect until they find somewhere to fit in, they will not last.

At the rate its going this forum will be a dead zone in a few years.

I am sure a few of the cool kids will stay and suck each other off though, too bad there wont be any variety in opinions. This place has become, "conform immediately and if you don't think like I do you are giving terrible advice and a dumbas."

Thats a good tecipe for a forum with 100members.

Try this next time you talk to a newbie, "not to be disrespectful, glad you are here, hope you stay."

You see when you speak kindly and not abrasive, it makes them like you. When you simply dryly state fact it doesn't help much either. Most people want a coversation and not a dictionary.

These people have other options, such as youtube and 50 other forums.
