Go to the doc, get better sooner. The sooner you get better, the sooner you go hit the muscle group at 110%, the sooner you get even bigger.
In short: going to doctor = getting bigger
Not going to the doc = being a small little girly man
Or you could keep going hurt, get seriously injured, and be out of the gym all together and wither away.
My cousin had shin splints, ignored it, and ended up needing surgery. No bueno
