If it's DEXA scan or something similar, each scan is like putting more puzzle pieces together. You aren't going to get the full picture after 1-2 scans. Also, the scan needs to be controlled in order to be accurate. This means same day, time of day, environment controlled etc.

Depending on the calculation, water being lost is going to get reported as muscle loss even though it's just water leaving your body.

If your total weight loss was 16 lbs over 7 weeks I would also say you are losing weight too quickly. Losing 3/4 of a lb every week is still 39-40 lbs lost in a year.

How did you calculate body fat ? 37% at your stats would imply you have no muscle and look 8 months pregnant, which from your description doesn't sound to be the case.

Hi, thanks for replying. The scan gave me 36.9% body fat. My fat free muscle mass was 220lbs my total body weight was 367lbs. I am now 351lbs.
I’m trying to lose it fast because I’m potentially days away from diabetes. Combining the rapid weight loss with turning my body into a fat burning machine rather than carb may turn things around, apparently. I’m encouraged that you think the machine may be confused between water and muscle. What about the odd sudden bone loss? Machine error? I hope so.

I thought your total weight was 220lbs - but being you are 351lbs that's a bit different.

I don't know specifically what they used to calculate your bone mass, but when I get mine tested at the hospital it's separate from everything else and it's called a bone density scan using some fancy X-ray type machine.

If you want some high quality calorie burning just have sex for 20 minutes three time per day. That will destroy any cardio machine in any gym for health profile
