I lived in Asia for two years on the Mekong river and it was pretty much 84 degrees fahrenheit every day. I had a visor on my motobike helmet but I never wore sunglasses. I'm living back in Europe now, and I'm going to the Canary Islands for a sun holiday in the Summertime, but again I won't wear sunglasses.
I'll only wear them for something like driving or downhill cycling (or maybe jet-skiing when I'm on holidays).
I tend not to be very motivated to converse with a person who's wearing opaque (or reflective) spectacles. I don't like not being able to see a person's eyes when talking to them (unless they're holding a cane with a ball at the end and so I know that they're blind). I don't mind so much the yellow-coloured lenses where you can see the person's eyes. If you're wearing thick black sunglasses and you come over to talk to me then I will probably have left the oven on at home.
