Unfortunately they have a reputation from their dog fighting prowess.

AmStaffs and pits get a totally undeserved reputation. You can make any. aggressive by improper socialization. People are assholes and abuse them to make them revert to acting like an undomesticated canine.I am partial to American Staffordshire Terriers. Pitbulls if you will.
