It was the way she made it. Shit was all slimy. Not deep fried like I grew up on.

I will accept that answer. Corn meal and fried is the only way to fix. She was a monster. Glad you got away. Lol

    Literally laughed out loud...

    Fried okra is the best!

“Pickled” is also an acceptable answer.

She was trying to saute it with some onions. She was a Hispanic girl. I told her deep fry it with some Jalapenos - stick to what she knows.

Almost anything pickled is acceptable - accept pigs feet. I'm born and raised southern and even I don't do pigs feet. Isn't it amazing how sidetracked a thread can get so quickly?

It’s a good distraction. I don’t abide by the rooter to the tooter myself.

Fried okra and fried jalapeños sounds really good.

Yeah, I thought so. But that was MY idea, so of course, she refused. In the end, her ass wasn't worth the attitude. It was pretty damn close though.

pigs feet are good in a stew. You get that meat on them all tender and the gelatin from the bone.

It's what gives soups and stews the right consistency. Comes from the collagen in the bones. It doesn't really have a taste though.

It probably is. They tend to use the cheaper meats in sausages.
