My thoughts... it is a deadly virus that is currently a worldwide pandemic.
Over 2500 Americans are dying everyday from Covid.

The worst flu season in the past ten years has killed 40,000 Americans.
Covid in less than a year, with all the precautions we've taken, has killed over 300,000 Americans.
We can guess that without precautions that number would easily be 600,000 Americans.

Just my opinion.

the problem with your comparison to the flu is that your comparing it to the flu viruses of today. this is the first outbreak of covid 19, and as far as i can tell the first outbreak of the flu was the spanish flu. there could have been earlier, but it appears the spanish flu is the first well documented flu. the spanish flu killed a 1/3 of the worlds population.

so if you actually compare them equally the first of both the corona virus is nowhere near what the flu is. we have just been dealing with the flu for 100 years, and thats why the death toll is less. if you compare the spanish flu with covid 19 there is no comparison.

this next part is going to come off cold and fucked up, but people die in these numbers every year from being overweight and obesity. so why are we wirried about few hundred thousand. 2.8 million people die per year from being overweight and obese. to save those lives we dont force dietary restrictions on people based upon BMI. So why do we care more about the lives of corona virus victims more than obese/overweight people.

is the corona virus real? sure it is, but it is being politicized and used to gain control of power. im not right or left im about as middle as you can get on everything. while i may not agree with you on political issues, i like the way you approach them. you make some jabs at people but they're never malicious.

I am no historian but...

I know that the Spanish flu was far deadlier.
Part of it surely comes from the fact that it was one hundred years ago and the medical science wasn't as advanced.
Fuck, they used gauze as medical masks back then.
If you got shot in a war you probably died from infection.
But I also think the Spanish Flu (which historians think actually started in America) was far deadlier than Covid-19.

But just because the Spanish Flu was more lethal doesn't mean that Covid-19 is a joke.

Yes many people die from being overweight and we don't mandate diets. (Good thing for KelKel that fat bastard.)
But if I overeat, it doesn't cause someone else to get fat.
If I don't wear a mask, I can infect others.

Once the vaccine is readily available and all people who want it can get it... then you won't have to wear one.

Trump is on tape openly admitting he downplayed the pandemic.
He wanted a strong economy so he would get re-elected.
And the Democrats took every stab at Trump they could. They overplayed the pandemic so they could Dump Trump.

I personally believe Trump would've won if he handled the pandemic better.
If Covid never happened Trump would've won 100% guaranteed.

I’ve been out every day through this in the most populated place in Canada and can still only tell it exists through the television. I’ve been to empty hospitals that are claimed to be over run. The tests are flawed, earlier this month there was a stat showing only 166 so called covid deaths in Canada were not seniors and of those 166 90% had under lying health conditions. Shattering the economy for this is a farce.

By the numbers Covid deaths by population is 2.4 times worse in the US.

I don't know much about Canada's economy or how the government handled it.
I do think that the US government mishandled it badly. From the President on down to the Senate and House and the Governors and Mayors.
We shut places down early on that didn't need to be shut down and now when it is really bad Covid wise people are fed up with the shut downs and government.
We've also been fed lies from some in our government.
