The topic of longevity of a loaded cartridge comes up now and again and this is the starting point for all such discussions. Bullseye powder manufactured in 1899 and stored under carefully controlled conditions shoots virtually as well today as it did more than 120 years ago. Pay particular attention to the remark about
"stabilizers for long-term storage were not introduced until about 1910." Which means a substantial improvement in longevity should have taken place well after that particular batch of Bullseye was manufactured.
