Long story short, it's because the company that makes the machines, Taylor, intentionally makes them wonky and has an exclusive contract with McDonald's so that every franchise has to buy their machine.
We have an appliance repair racquet out here by me run by a particular nationality. They come out for a repair and might replace your broken part with a new part, but they also replace a currently working part with a broken part. Fooled me twice with two separate shops for the same appliance. I finally connected with someone trusted who clued us in.

There’s POS everywhere trying to make a crooked buck.

Good old armos. I needed a locksmith once, he tried to charge me $300 and was angry when I said that’s way too much. I don’t understand how an an entire nationality can have so many douche bags.

In this case, not armos. Although I did have one recently try to lie about a broken garage door spring. Yeah sure it needs to be custom made and $1500, lol. I’ll shoot you a PM, don’t want to offend anyone if I single out a nationality. Turns out after the fact, several contractors I know confirmed that this group is notorious at ripping people off in that business.
