I work out legs 3x week. I only do 2 exercises for quads on each leg day.
Day one- example squats
3 warm up sets of 8 reps
2 working sets 6-8 reps to failure followed by 10 second rest and once again to failure- probably 3-4 reps
Same thing with leg press
Day 2 - 3 sets 12-15 reps
2 sets 12-15 with two drop sets ( 12-15 reps. )
Day 3 same as day one.
I have also started working in muscle rounds on day 3.
The key is you are only doing 2 working sets on heavy day- kill them on day 1&3.
I do get a sweat going on the warmup. I probably have 3-5 reps in reserve.
I also do all body parts 3x week but only one heavy day, with the other two 12-15 reps with 2 sets having drop sets.
Groupings: quads, hams ( only once per week), back, biceps
Group 2: chest, shoulders, triceps.
