I'm gonna dig kinda shallow... Maybe kick some dirt around with my foot. I ain't goin back. Done looking back.

Loss of cognitive function makes it easy to quit.
I like food now a lot. Got a great cook

Right on brutha, you know as well as anyone the importance of food. Eating good stuff is ever better, go get it. Stay hungry, literally and figuratively

It's not the quitting that's hard, it's keeping from relapsing that is. Do you have a sponsor and a support group/network?

I never liked support groups I used to go to AA and I didn't feel like drinking until I left and heard everybody's bullshit. Luckily I have people around me that will put a bullet in my head if I ever take a drink again.

A bullet to the head is pretty good motivation to not drink LOL. Hang in there. I've had substance issues myself. I don't go to AA/NA, but a lot of the steps are things I work(ed) through on my own. The hardest parts to it are being honest with yourself and repentance. We like to bullshit ourselves and make excuses for everything. That's part of how we get caught up in our substance in the first place.
