We have some really good insurance at the plant. The family plan runs me this year at 85 a week next year it goes to 90 and at the end of the contract I believe its 95 or 100. Deductible is just 300 bucks tho. The spouses work , which is healthcare non union rates are astronomical. Several thousands for deductible and double my monthly rate.
I guess my premiums aren't too much out of line then.I pay around $300-ish every 2 weeks, but $175 of that is money I put in HSA. That's vision, dental, medical, life insurance @ 6x base pay, and AD&D at about the same as life insurance. Then the company kicks in $1200/ year to the HSA plan.
We always try to keep at least an out of packet amount in that account. On the other hand the deductible is $5k and out of pocket max is $7500.
