ahhh i see. i am on a 5 days split right now, which i like better than a 4 day, but even tho today includes few excercises it is very easy for me to overtrain. im with you on the pounding yourself into the ground though, just doesnt feel worth it if i can move like a normal person when im done
theres a few workouts that you can do for that area without any machines. all you need is some ankle weights

yea.. competitive is healthy tho.. to a certain point.. i have a friend who i work with that is competing for the first time too... so we're tryin to help each other out... she's awesome.. i think she'll do great.. but she thinks she's not ready and thinks i am, while i think i'm not... so it's hard to tell
i guess we both have our own personal goals
im starting to liek squats more and more. i wish my knees and back were in perfect health, i could do alot better. anything above 275 sends my spine into agony, and anywhere below parallel makes my knees creak and ache. cant even do hacks at all cause of the knee pain.
