bottom line is you dont bite a cop, thats where he fvked up... , you dont bite a cop, you dont touch a cop, if they throw you on the ground submit, end of story, once you lay your hands on a cop they can do whatever the hell they want to you and be justified

The scraping of the face on the pavement was a little much. But he should have never bitten the cop.

It's instinct to fight back when someone is physically harming you. If a guy flashed a badge then started whooping the shit out of you, you wouldn't fight back? You would think that was ok?

Wtf?? A of all they didnt "flash" a badge theyre bright green, and there were 3 of them, and B of all we're raised our whole lives knowing that cops are there for a reason, for protection, and not to fvck with them, so your pretty much saying your first instinct if a cop is arresting you or takes you down is to resist????

I was giving an example, it has nothing to do with the situation. Just like you think war heroes aren't above the law, NEITHER ARE POLICE. What you are saying is just because someone is a cop that gives them the right to assault someone that is suspected of a crime.

It depends you are a civilian they are cops they can kick the shit out of you and say you were resisting arrest, and build a case on you make it stick. After 911 the playing Field has changed.

IMO the guy deserved what he got.. One, though the reporter was saying he was mistaken for talking shit, watch, come on we have all talked shit to people before, you can tell that is what he was doing.. second he tried to run, he tried to resist, and he bit one of them, and even after the punches he still was resisting...

just because you serve your country in war does not mean you are a great guy and can do no wrong.. the guy was a prick resist arrest. and even though the guys were rough on him. nothing that was out of a use of force matrix for normal law enforcement.

For all you know the guy was trying to lift his face up, like MOST people do when someone is pushing their face down, and thats why his face got scraped, and that picture of the scrapes on his face is weak anyway

Lol. He WAS trying to lift his face up, just like thousands of people that are being arrested every day do. It's not acceptable to shove a suspects face in the ground and pretend like you're grating cheese. They handled it very poorly, and that's all there is to it.

I have gotten to where I don't really drink that much. I used to could go all night, but as I have gotten older and more responable I have foudn that hangovers last two days and I don't enjoy the times I am having after I start getting really sauced anymore, plus it interferes with my physical goals. I can put them down though. I drink Corona when I drink beer.

those cops should be in jail.
that guy t****** and fell to the ground, he was no threat to anyone, they knew he was drunk. if they handled the situation correct, he would not of bit them, they were neglegent in their duties..
cops are or should be trained to deal with that without beating someone. the cops no this is there job when hired, they no they cant abuse people, they choose to break the rules.
makes me sick when people justify cops beating people..
COPS ARE THE KIDS WE ALL PICKED ON IN SCHOOL....now they are taking there revenge

if a veteran of 2 tours gets taken down by 3 police officers, then he must have been drunk, and probably acting stupid. He was probably resisting, but the tape didn't show it. They certainly didn't show the 9 minutes they claimed the "vicious" attack went on. All he got were friggin scratches on his face. BIG WHOOP!

Sure, but why should cuts and scratches be an indicator of appropriate use of force? Some people bruise very easily, but that doesn't mean that an officer used too much force.

I like how they didnt show the BITE MARKS on the cops LEG/KNEE, like i said, for all they know the guy could have HIV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! good god man get real, not gonna have some random DRUNK on the street biting me on the leg/knee....

You aren't getting it man. He bit the cop AFTER they began the use of excessive force. He was being assaulted, so it was only natural to resist and fight back. And even then, IT DOESNT MATTER! They shouldn't have assaulted him like that before he bit them, and they shouldn't have rubbed his face in the ground AFTER he bit them. Either way, they are WRONG. And just what does your last sentence mean? If they beat someone's ass good enough then the next time they won't resist or fight back? I don't think so. I'd bet on the opposite. You're entitled to your opinion, but jeez..... You would fail the interview if you applied to be a cop, that's for sure.

a of all your going about this thought process all wrong, your going at it from the DRUNK GUYS point of view, dont do that, go at it from the COPS point of view, the guys drunk, in the street, u have no idea wtf hes saying to the cops to ENTICE them in the first place, you have no idea what hes saying to them AFTER they take him down, my guess is since hes trying to resists its probably something along the lines of "go FU** yourself" and like i said, drunk or not, if a cop takes you down / approaches you, you submit, you dont resist AT ALL, and who BITES a cop like i said previously if you attack a cop or touch a cop, your done, thats it, end of story your DONE, theyre justified in doing whatever the FVCK they want, and like i said they dont know the dude could be a crackhead with HIV ETC ETC ETC, you EXPECT the worst, hope for the best

I am a cop. I've dealt with many drunk people. I know where you're coming from, but it just doesn't work like that. The best cops are great communicators, and deal with a lot less of that type of stuff than cops like the guys in the video. But in the end, it's their job to deal with stuff like that. Just like Vince Lombardi said to one of his players after he celebrated scoring a touchdown: "You're a Green Bay Packer, act like you've been there before". It looked like that was their first time ever dealing with a drunk guy.

lol,, it looked bad when the cops punched him repeatedly,,, but like everyone says, who knows what he was saying or doing just before the video starts recording.

for all we know he could have been saying "i have a gun/knife and i want to kill a cop tonight! come get me if you can fukkerss!"

and i say u don't seem like a cop because of the way u defend the drunk dude.

I work with cops alot, i dont know how it is in SOCAL, but i know how it is out here, and the cops out here put up with 24/7 bs, their patience is usually past the point of wearing thin everyday, and the fact that they're on an emergency scene at night probably doesnt help, but i can tell right now we're not gonna come to an agreement so... agree to disagree <3
