I agree with Marcus on this, and that's the truth. I'm sorry you didn't like my views on my viewing you pic. So to agree with what was said if you continue on the path that you are on it will happen in time. But not overnight. Now I will also up hold what you didn't like when I said they are not as big as you think. Not to be mean but to be truthful You didn't gain 3 " in 9 months. As was said if you get down to a respectable % BF your arms could loose as much as 2 ". So at 20 % body fat that means you loose 18%. So 18 % of 17" is 3" and that puts you back to 17 " - 3" is 14 " so with a little margin of slack +/- you will be back to 14 + inches. After 9 months it is impossible to gain even 2" on your biceps, hard mass. Ask the other's that exact question can it be done naturally ? So that's my EXPERT OPINION from over 10 yrs in training, ownin a gym and training competitive bodybuilders both men and one woman. She placed 1st in the heavy weight comp, show in South FL back in 89'- 90'. I will find the pic and get the name of the show. And post it when I dig it out.
So please understand that I am a somewhat professional and I wasn't telling you anything but the truth. If it hurt I'm sorry, it wasn't meant to hurt if was to help you, CONSTUCTIVE CRITSISM. That's what the forum is about and not flaming people. ...crazy mike
Good luck stick with the diet. In time you will be able to see your true gains.

Firstly, hello there MuscleMutant, congratulations on the weight loss.

Im not here to stir shit, however, I have read your other threads, you have repeatedly been given advice about dieting, and you seem to become agitated and aggressive in your posts. With a quick mention to what CrazyMike said, you have 4 threads, all of them firstly mention your arms long before they mention any other body part. You posted a YouTube video of you posing, that is linked to your YouTube account, it shows that you have uploaded 24 videos, 16 of which are you posing biceps alone. Its clear that Biceps are your favourite bodypart, he wasnt bullying you, just making an observation.
From the pictures I have seen, you look disproportionate, It doesnt look like you put much effort into the rest of routine. If 'bicep' size is your main concern, then the advice given is still applicable, diet, and work everything. By putting more symmetry into your body, you will look bigger generally, and as marcus pointed out, losing some bodyfat may mean you lose a little size, but they'll look bigger. Possibly hit up the workout section and try reading about HIT, the Dorian Yates workouts and even have a look at Marcus' log, it includes some great workout advice.

    *Added video*
This video was posted April 2013, so im going to assume that it is fairly recent. I would guess by looking at it that your bodyfat is not too far off what your scales said.

    Lightbulb

Biceps are my weakness as in having a favorite, yes. But I have some calf video, and I do train everything. I have been with powerlifting and martial arts since my junior year in high school. Just because I have a favorite muscle, doesn't mean I don't work everything. Because I was Ill from something I had no control over happening that took me out of the loop for 12 years, causing me to be a weight I despise and never used to have, when you take off as much fat as I did, as fast as I did, it's not going to be proportionate, or symmetrical. I admitted I was wrong, and you're all correct, but I am also correct that I have quite a bit of muscle under my fat. It won't measure as big when my bf is right, I know that, but weight doesn't go down, and measurements get bigger from fat gain or merely fat loss. I know what I see and feel on my body, the change in how my clothes fit , and the difference I feel on my arms when I flex. While it's not realistic that all that increased size is muscle, some is,the rest if the fat on top of it. I was trying to switch suddenly and bulk first, hence the disproportion. I hope you all can steer me the right direction. so thank you for recognizing I've lost weight, My current diet as I have dealt with in the nutrition forum, not what I usually do, and didn't have a choice. I don't need to explain, it's a lot of personal stuff, irrelevant to the site

With that being said by you, get off the bicep OCD. Now start applying work to other parts. Ya know in that video I see your biceps and triceps and they are proportionate (somewhat)
And maybe you don't see them when you flex. But not what you see or don't, get this.
AS I said take this into some consideration. You have 38% over your body and you will loose around your triceps also. Now in that pic I don't see your tri's to be any thing less to the biceps. So again, you look at yourself and tell yourself are my biceps really al that, compared to a proportionate tricep. Now once and for all do what is working, and it is, but get a grip and know where your at. Your strong but again look at your sixe , and weight against table weight. Most women some men can't do that, but most aren't your size (respectfully). ...good luck AGAIN I SAY. Read and listen more than defend your self and you will be happier and get more out of it. ....crazy mike

Continue with diet if u want the cut look. Low bf% is the only way to achieve that. And obviously its hard to do or we would see millions of ripped ppl walking around.

I had the strength in high school, when I was thin, toned and athletic, its a lot of natural strength. As far as my biceps, I focus on them the most cause they are my best muscle. They are about the size the look, I's say with loss of fat, they wont lose much size, a little not much. I know what I feel on my arms when they are flexed, I really don't want to discuss them anymore, I'm deleting my youtube channel, and I will never mention them here again, or show pics of them. I don't want to cause anymore problems here, so if that helps, I'll do it.

Musclenutant could you please post more information in your bio section of your profile. This would help members to know more about you. I would like to read more about your battle with cancer and the struggle you went through fighting it. Its inspiring that you went through all that and are now training. I would also like to learn more about your training experience. In one of your post you talk about starting powerlifting as a junior in high school. You also talk about reasons why you’re living where you do and not being able to cook. Several of the pros and many of the greats struggled and lived on their friends couches. Their stories are very inspirational. I would like to hear more about your story.

Okay can we at least hear about the power lifting training in high school?

  14. #54
No, not right now. People believe I lift what I can cause I'm overweight/fat.When I lose the fat, and can post videos of me still being able to, then I'll talk about it. I learned to say anything on here, you need concrete proof, so no hard feelings will anyone, I just want to lay it low till I can prove anything I claim.

Thank you. When you are ready I look forward to learning more about your past training experience and your battle with cancer. I wish you the best of luck. From your all your post yesterday I know that you have the fire and the drive to succeed. I know you can achieve your goals with the right mind set.

Yeah Like most people on this site I didn't actually put where Im from. I do live in Illinois but I don't live in Peoria.

  18. #58
eh, I just thought it was a funny coincidence. pointless to bring it up, just trying to be friendly.

  19. #59
Just an observation. Musclenutant, you seem to be taking advice the wrong way. When people say "diet", they are not meaning you are fat. Diet is used as a term for your nutrition plan. Whether bulking, cutting, maintaining, you need to focus on your "diet". You are going to always focus, and tweek your diet as you progress. Don't take it personal. From my outside point of view everyone here is giving you quality, and helpful advice. Please take it how it is intended, which is supportive and helpful. Im quite surprised how patient everyone is being with you, you are getting the gold treatment around here if you ask me. Best of luck in reaching your goals, its not easy but you are well on your way.

Why are you hashing up old stuff that was resolved? And in all honesty? people did call me fat, quite a few of them did, "overly fat", "fat","look like crap" just to name a few.so please, no offense, or trying to start this again, I'm just letting you know it was said by more than one person. This was resolved and has not come up again, please leave it be.

Hmm makes me wonder. You know most all of us like to share or lifting experiences good bad or indifferent so we can help each other or a newcomer learn something. Learn about power lifting etc.. This site is not just for bodybuilders per say but it lends it's knowledge to power lifters as well. Do you have any experiences in any kind of lifting or dieting that were successful or that you though you excelled in that you could share constructively to help another. I would like to hear some helpful hints, things that worked for you that might help me and or any one. ...crazy mike

Thanks, Jab1. I realize I'm difficult to deal with sometimes. Like tigerspawn said, I have a fire in me. I'm a fighter, and don't back down easy. Years of in your face Martial Arts training, I guess. I'm very grateful for everyone's patience. What everyone here does isn't easy, and takes years. I guess I need to respect that, and listen to those who have been at it awhile.

  25. #65
Sure crazy mike. I can share my powerlifting experience. I just needed a little reflecting and cooling down time before answering anyone.

  26. #66
Technically I lived in the city, but spent most of my time out in the country at my Grandparent's house. Now, I'm big campus town girl. I'm willing to share any info about the cancer or my powerlifting.

    Hello MN!

    How you doing?

What is your power lifting record?

  28. #68
    Hey, Gaspaco!
    Bench 350 max
    barbell curl 220 max
    leg press 1500 max
    overhead press 250 max
squat 550 max, now at my gym, I max out all our lower body stuff, and I'm close to building my upper body strength back to what it was before the cancer.
