How low is her income to justify a $300 a month contribution?

So I sent my ex a txt and said I want half of the daycare cost.

Her response..... "I'm sure you know..... Things are hard. My car payment alone is $300"

    I lost it lol

U shouldn't even talk to her about it and just file for it this way she can't try manipulate her income if u want it a lot people don't bother bc every time u go to court the other parent can ask for a change in custody and legally they have to review it

Happens all the time it's very common that's why most parents want to stay out of court and just take it as a loss but not right but if you know she won't or can't for some reason I'd go for it

She'd never be able to afford it. You mean to tell me she can't afford $370/month but she can take care of a child..... AND pay daycare? No way.....

    I'd flip my cork

It doesnt matter in most cases what makes sense. It has nothing to do with logic. 90% of the time the woman gets the kid even if she is a proven drug addict (ex druggie of course) prostitute (or general whore) or is broke because the court will simply designate you (the man) to supplement her income enough to sustain herself and the kid even if you dont make enough but of course the more you make the more they will take.

The only reason you, I or any other man gets custody of their kid is because we were able to prove to the court she would be a danger to the child well-being.

Never go in trying to prove you are the better parent. You have to go in and prove the child is in eminent danger.

Sounds typical putting a car payment 1st. She should be driving a $500 POS and paying what she owes.

I have to agree though. The less contact the better. It's easy to go in a file anything they want just to make it a PITA for you. How much will you loose every time you go to court? 1 day wages + possible attorney fees.

You want to keep her out of the picture as much as possible. Forget the money. NEVER go anywhere to meet her without a witness with you, Never...

She may not be able to but with child-support she might and she'd probably lying about her money situation

the system is geared to help women and screw men, just the way it is. It is not right, but women get all the rights and benefits in divorces and kids

Her mother took me to court because she claimed I wasn't letting her see my daughter. I use the opportunity to file for divorce also.

My fathers attorney was an ex-us federal prosecutor. I hired him - my ex has an attorney in her family. My attorney cost $5000 and that was because we knew him for a long time. His retainer is $10k. Her attorney was free.

At the end of the day: I got custody, got an iron clad divorce and she signed away her rights to alimony, and my attorney told my ex-mother in law that legally she has no rights to my daughter and its out of the goodness of my heart that I will allow her to spend time with her lol.

    She has since passed away.
