Its one of the first things any one should learn in training. It is counterproductive to do cardio first cause your body WILL use up the food/fuel you just gave it prior to the workout during cardio which people use cardio to burn fat and you are not accomplishing that.
Then you go to something that is actually more intense on your body and you need a energy source, it won't be fat, it'll be protein, aka your hard earn muscles for energy.
