There is one documented historical instance of what our newbie colleague has made a joke about.
A famous book titled "Crimes & Punishment" documents a serial killer and cannabal named Albert Fish who besides being an S.K and eating his victims was also a masochist (enjoys inflicing pain on self). Albert Fish used to stick pins ( straight pins - not needles/syringes) into his testicles as a form of masochism.
Furthermore this man Albert Fish served as motivation for the Lecter Hannibal character played by Anthony Hopkins. The author or the Hannibal books/movies wisely omitted this trait from his fictional character since he chose instead to endear his serial killer with dignity/charm and wit as portrayed by Hopkins so well.
This has nothing to do with steroids but I thot id break up the cocophany of really banal posts today.
