i have read countless threads and posts on guys and gals popping tabs from xenadrine, hydroxycut, eca's etc. all of these otc fat burners contain what i consider high doses of ephedrine. not yellow jacket high, but still high enough to give its user a amphetamine like rush. now, just because ephedrine can be purchased otc doesn't guarantee that its safe. dont forget ghb was otc for a few years also. a drug that has been the cause of several deaths over the years. awhile back i did a short 4 week cycle of eca and good diet and cardio. i felt good, my asthma cleared up and i lost a few pounds. i stopped taking it, because i couldn't sleep. anyway my blood pressure has been high ever since. there is no history of high blood pressure in my family and the doses i took of ephedrine aspirin and caffeine were normal avg doses. a young lady who i worked with this summer dropped dead after taking ephedrine one morning to give herself a boost. they revived her, but her heart had stopped completely. good thing she worked at a heath club. i think she took a few tabs too much that morning, but shit there are multiple incidents of death associated with ephedrine. not saying don't do it, i'm saying be careful. monitor blood pressure and heart rate and IMO supplement vitamin E.
