Wierd explorer problem

Whenever I try to "right click and save as" the download begins. But at any random moment it frezes. Sometimes I can get down 1 meg, sometimes 70kg, sometimes 13 meg. But 90% of the time it get stuck before I get down the file and its anoying me like hell. It happens with any file from any site.

I dont have any adware/spyware or viruses either ran adaware and panda antivirus yesterday and found nothing. Has anyone else encoutered this problem??

Also I cant watch gif pics. They dont move they are just frozen in one frame and when I try to right click and save any pic my explore wants to save it as bmp(even if its a gif or jpg).

How do I solve this ****? I have win xp and have run all uppdates both for explorer and windows that I can find

create a new user account on the machine, then log in as that user account. Your current user account may have corrupted registry settings...

See how that goes.

Thanks Il give that a try. If that is the case how do I restore the registry settings??

The new user account will take the default USER registry settings, so it's automatic.

Just make the account and do a test with it... let me know how you get on.
