I have made well over $1000 in a night. I have also had plenty of nights where I made nothing at all. You just never know for sure, except weekends and holidays you can always count on something. Conventions can be good... usually the second night they are in town, after word gets around. I try to do at least 3-4 tricks when I am working the conventioneers.

Some make alot more than that, I know a few (old timers) heard the starting pay kind of sucks, but pay raises happen alot. Great retirement plan.

I'm doing better than the vast majority of people my age, but sometimes it just doesn't seem like it.

I do like my job though, and I'm extremely good at it. I could sell an $8,000 JVC plasma micro-display to a blind-man.
