    Meal Replacement

    I am a fan of Met-Rx .. and always have been ...

But I would like your opinion on what may be better... I read up a lot on new supps, but I really hate being the guinea pig for new supps... but maybe your input can assist me here ... on what I should look into ... thnks

I like to make my own.

Cheaper, I control what is going into it, amounts, etc.

i imagine just whey and dex/malto or oats, thats what i put in mine. if i want a pro/fat i do whey and PB/flax. its soooo much cheaper. i worked it out (im obsessed) and i was saving about $65 a month.

Does everyone make their own ... ?

Cost doesnt concern me .. I really wanted to know if anyone knows of a better product. I dont see how you can add all the ingredients making your own.. whether or not the result is the same..

Leanbody ? I will have to read up on that ... thanks for the tip ... anyone else got a proven effective meal replacement powder?

I've got one of the most effective ones I have ever used.

    Protoplex.

They don't make it anymore... I don't think, but I haven't looked really. The Protoplex packets. They look like they were made in the 80s.

I believe Myoplex might be similar.

Protoplex packets - if you can find it... details below:

    Fat: 2g
    Sodium: 170mg
    Potassium: 570mg
    Carbs: 22g
    Less than 1g Sugar
    Protein: 42g

    Calories: 270

There is a good amount of vitamins and minerals.

I would give you a price estimate but I got mine for $1.00 for 20 packets, Vitamin world was "discontinuing them".

They work well for me... don't know how well they work for others...

i agree with LAG on the brand. the best MRP i've ever had was Precision Engineered Protoplex LITE vanilla. Chocolate is my second best. I didnt like the regular (non-lite formula) because i thought it was too thick. here is the macro breakdown for protoplex LITE:

Precision Engineered Protoplex Lite, Vanilla Flavor
    56.8 g (2 scoops)
    Calories: 190
    Fat: 1.5g
    Carbs: 19g
    Protein: 25g

Maybe you could have two at a time or something. haha!

    1. Strawberry
    2. Chocolate
    3. Vanilla

I don't know if they have other flavors... they must, somewhere. US Nutrition is the company that actually makes it (according to the back of my packets). Check them out MarkyMark, they are good.

when buying meal rplacments just look at the breakdown.
i like buying meal replacments for bulking

look at the carbs i always get ones with whole grain carbs, oats (like myoplex deluxe) instead of maltodextrin
