    GIANTZ! Fat and carb separation....

I know bro, that you and SC posted some good info about this concept, but I cant find the link. I got some schmuck in the gym saying I'm full of shit and it's all rubbish...anyone have the link on WHY you need to separate?

carbs spike insulin, fat piggy backs on insulins back as it rushes fat into cells to store therefore making you fat. tell the guy at the gym to visit steroid.com if hes got any questions, he can learn more than just the basics.

No specific posts really. Separting carbs and fats is not law fella's. I know people that don't and are just fine. However I do, some people who are naturally endomorphic can benefit from this method.

I would say that you are spiking insulin, because I doubt many are drinking dex while eating lard. But when you elevate insuling you do increase the chances of fat storage. Elevations in plasma insulin will also elevate LPL levels which is a primary enzyme in the storage of triglycerides.

It doesn't supprise me that he thinks it's BS, cause many can combine the two without problems. Other have found that separating makes life easier. I for one alo think its a bit easier to count cals this way too.

Essentially, it depends on who you ask.

The main idea behind it, for the most part, is that it helps you keep your eating, and thus calories, under control.

Many who once stood behind the concept of seperating are now no longer strongly advocating it.

It works, but mainly because of calories, not because of the seperation from what I gather. This is just a large general statement though, so take it as that.

Other than that, it really doesnt make a large amount of difference. I seperate myself, but its just because I am so used to it that its easier to pack for the day, etc, thus keeping me working towards my goals.

This isn't necessarily true. I've had much greater success as an endomorph with separation of fats/carbs. It has nothing to do with calories because some people process different macros different ways. As SC would say, it's all about macro breakdown and timing.

Now, as an ecto or meso, you may get away with combining a little better, but once again, this has nothing to do with total calorie intake, but how people's bodies process different macros different ways.

Simply walk away from the needledick, I wouldn't even think twice about arguing or having to prove anything. I let my body prove it all, and when they look at themselves, they really can't say shit.

Have to say I disagree bro. It has everything to do with total calorie intake.

All I'm going to say is "no it doesn't", but I don't have time to sit here and go back/forth as that's silly and a waste of valuable time.

It doesn't have "everything" to do w/caloric intake at all, as there are many other factors such as the food that makes up the kcals, when it's eaten, how much is eaten at once, what it's eaten with, why it's eaten (around what activity), the blood sugar response level of each individual, each person's metabolism, etc.

However, whoever thinks what they think, is fine by me. It's not my goal to change everyone's thinking, only those who pay me to counsel them.

I agree SC. I tried to make it clear I was speaking very generally. I am not saying eat a bowl of lard PWO, etc.

If it was all about total calories I could eat candy, hot dogs, cheeseburgers and butter on white bread until I hit my maintenance cals..do that for like 6 weeks and I would be fine.
