What research shows is that it spikes growth hormones levels and growth hormone competes with insulin. Many people like to spike insulin to get nutriants and food in post workout and use glutamine before bed to help spike growth hormones.Originally Posted by edgarr

I take it pre-cardio (AM empty stomach), pre-workout, and before bed. I believe glutamine is an excellent supplement that will aid in recovery.
i think it depends if you combine cardio days with weight lifting days if you do take it pre cardio and pre workout. but don't do cardio and training right after another.
what is more optimal for recovery pre workout or post workout? i usually take 10g before morning cardio 45 mins low intensity
