    what do you use to flavor your dextrose PWO?

    well, switching my diet around a bit and going with cytogainer and dextrose for PWO. just wondering what you guys use to flavor up your dextrose? i was thinking maybe some of those kool-aid packets that you just add sugar to, but i don't know what's in those and if it's a good call or not? if anyone knows if that's ok or knows of anything else to keep it from just tasting like sugar water, i'd appreciate it.

    also, i'm assuming you'd want to drink down the dextrose first PWO to replenish lost glucose and glycogen stores, then drink the cytogainer. if anyone has reason to do otherwise, please let me know. thanks.

    isnt hte dextrose sweet as it is ...?

    Mix it with a protein shake...don't see why you would drink one then the other. 100g dex with 50g chocolate whey = awesome.

    yea, i just figured if you could flavor it, you could get more of a variety instead of it being the same old thing every time that's just like sugar water.

    well, i'd be mixing it with the cytogainer. might come out a bit sweet. i want both dextrose and maltodextrin for the PWO mix.

    Dextrose is gonna make it taste sweet as hell any way. I don't know what you could use besides some type of flavored powder, whey, or in your case, cytogainer to make it taste any better. What flavor cytogainer you got?

    right now i got rocky road and cookies and cream. do yourself a favor and NEVER buy the cookies and cream. it's disgusting. just choking it down cause i don't waste, but never getting it again.

    Cytogainger already has maltodex and 80g carbs per serving...

    i use gatorade because i get it free, it has sucrose and dextrose. lemon-lime gatorade + vanilla whey = mmmmm

    I was wondering the same thing, In highschool we would always just down lemonade and eat toast. Is the dextrose a simple sugar, and malto is a complex carb?

    as far as the dextrose and malto, what's important isn't whether they're a carb or a sugar. what matters is their GI. the lower, the better, except for PWO. in that case you want high GI carbs. both dextrose and malto are both high GI. do some research on glycemic index and you'll see what i'm talking about.

    as far as the kool-aid idea i was thinking of, that's out of the question. those packets have all kinds of chemicals and artificial garbage in them. i'm gonna hit the health food store tomorrow and see if they have any calorie-free flavoring i can toss into it.

    Yea, bro. I had that cookies and cream flavored cytogainer once. I mixed fat free chocolate ice cream in it to completely dull it's taste. It's awful. The chocolate or chocolate shake, I can't remember exactly...it isn't bad.

    Whey protein and dextrose here, no need to flavor my stuff as the whey is already flavored. I have like 5 diff. kinds from my sponsor.

    I usually just go with 50 grams of dextrose and then get the 50 other carbs from fruit. Half a banana some strawberries a few blueberries mixed with vanilla whey is veryyy gooddd.

    ok here ya go...... use two full glasses of crushed ice, add teaspoon of vanilla ex, then add 5 grams cocoa powder, then add 1 cup fat free milk or lactaid or cool whip. blend till almost a creamy texture (may have to let it set and melt for a min or two...

    then add your dex and choc pro..... i add a half serving of choc chips as well.. it the best fkn shake in the world, better than a milk shake, they should pay me for this,,, u can use small yok patties for flavoring too
    the key is to add the right amount of ice.......

    depending how strict your diet is, u can leave out the xtra sweets!

    Why go to the health store?

    squeeze two lemons into it and 5 grams of creatine .. splash over ice and you've got lemonade with a kick!
