How do prisoners get/stay big?

I was watching this show on the dicovery channel last night called SuperMax which basically documents life in a maximum security prison.

A bunch of the prisoners had their anuall bench pressing contest and these guys were huge. Not fat, but big & ripped. Many looked close to 300 llbs. Most of these guys are doing 25+ year bids and have already been in prison for 5+ years so I'm wondering how do they maintain that size & strength?

I'm sure they have all the time in the world to work-out but I seriously doubt they can get 5+ meals a day in the clink.

Typically prisoners in Supermax facilities are tesosterone freaks. That's probably what got them there in the first place.

I would have to agree that for the most part it is genetics.

The sterotype "big and dumb" was not made up, it came from some where, it is not always true.

Prisoners aren't very active. All the big guys do is lift and eat, that's it. After awhile your body adapts to this and begins to grown in this manner, since they only activity is heavy resistance training and eating. Also drugs are more abundant on the inside, all kinds of drugs, including juice so many are on cycle inside.......so if you could imagine doing absolutly nothing but eating, juicing, lifting, and sleeping for the next 5-10 years you will deffititley pack on size and strength

I wouldnt make it prison, Im not clausterphobic but I hate being locked up, confined or held down in anyway against my will so Id probably end up getting enraged, crazy and flip out.
