HCG only after 10 wks of test?

My doc has me doing 250iu HCG twice weekly with 200 mg test weekly. After 10 wks of this I am supposed to do 1,000 iu daily HCG only for 10 days before starting the next test/HCG cycle. Does 1,000 daily seem a little high? Is it a good idea to do the 10 days of HCG only between cycles?

I am scheduled for 5 100IU doses during week 12. I finish the test week 10. My clinic says wait at leat 2 weeks after finishing the hcg.

I droped my dosage and took the shots more often, i did not want to convet to estrogen

My clinic told me to start tamoxifen eod for 3 days a week starting with my 3rd weekly test injection. I suspect that there is not just one proper way. We are all different and doctors are too.

I would also like to point out which many will know which high profile and respected doctor suggests that dosages higher than 500 units on any given day have the risk of increasing aromatase of estrogen and also the effecting the Leydig to desensitize.

Sounds like a great idea if you want to ruin your nuts for life. Plus the whole cycling of HRT thing still has me scratching my head........

Would it be appropriate for me to call Oasis to discuss this issue, even though I am currently using the products and guidance of a different clinic (at least for the next 9 weeks)? As I have noted elsewhere, I am new to HRT, and I would be interested to have other opinions on whether my program makes sense or if some other approach would be more beneficial to me. I am not doing this for body building, I am 58 and want to improve my quality of life, esp my sex life, and generally get in better shape.

I talked to one of your reps today as you suggested. Very helpful. I am inclined to switch to Oasis for the future therapy.

I would like to know if Oasis recommends a 10 day stoppage of testosterone between cycles or if it is better to take it 52 weeks a year. I wouldn't think it would matter much either way.

I can't speak for Oasis, but I think it depends on your specific situation. My Lab test show that my testosterone is in the 'normal' range. But I show many symptoms of andropause. I am on this therapy to improve my quality of life. Since my body produces test, I do not want to completely shut down my nuts, which would happen on year round hrt. I am inclined towards 3 month cycles, with a month or so between.

I have also noticed that if I go over 250iu per injection, I get red welts on my upper chest/throat area. I would never be able to do 1,000 iu as my doc suggests.

When speaking about HCG you may also want to take into consideration if it will be effective for each individual. You will want to look at your labs and see where the LH & FSH levels are. If those levels are low 3 or under hcg will possibly be effective because there is not much stimulation. If the levels are higher in the 6 or above hcg may not be effective because there is already alot of stimulation that is occuring.

As for taking breaks during the testosterone replacement therapies it can be up to the individual but the idea of hrt is to feel good and coming off in peroids your levels will decline again for that peroid and put you back to where you started. HRT is for life which many individuals don't understand. Testosterone levels do not all of a sudden come back to normal levels when you turn 50.
