    I'm new here

Although I have been a member of AR for some time, I have only recently broken down and ventured over into the realm of the diet forum. Apparently some folks believe that a good diet can play a role in bodybuilding so I suppose it is time to really get my diet in shape. I thought I would use this thread to introduce myself since I plan on spending some time here in the coming months.

My name is DangerDan. I'm 26 years old and have been lifting for approximately 10 years on and off, the last year I have become quite dedicated. I weighed about 160 poulds eight years ago when I graduated from highschool and have slowely put on weight. One year ago I weighed between 185-190 pounds. I now weigh 212 and would estimate my bf% at around 10-12%. I am 6'1. I have attached a couple of pics taken in the last couple of months (most served as my avatar at some point).

I am planning on entering my first show in August of next year. I have approximately nine months to get ready, six months to put on as much muscle as possible and three months to cut down for the show. My goal is to put on twenty to twenty-five pounds over the next six months whilst keeping my bodyfat under control so. I would like to be at around 230-235lbs when I start cutting for the show. I will be doing a winter bulking cycle starting in mid November/December and plan on running a cutting cycle just prior to the show. I have done one cycle previously.

My diet right now is decent, i.e. I eat pretty healthy but I am not getting enough calories. I recently starting taking B12 at 1cc per week which has increased my appetite a bit.

At any rate, I've come to the diet forum to learn. I will be attempting to get a decent bulking-type diet put together over the next few weeks. At this point, I am thinking I'm gonig to shoot for around 4400 calories. I am looking forward to seeing how my body reacts to actually getting enough calories to grow and a proper diet.

The diet is THE biggest portion to bodybuilding IMO....thats why i really got my shit together.

You look quite a bit leaner in the first pic

Ya, post the diet with macros for each meal and final macros.

4400 cals is quite a bit but if your metabolism is quick you shouldn't have too much of a problem. I would start off 500 over maintenance and go up from there until you start putting fat on.

    Good luck man!

Yeah, I realize diet is probably the most important aspect of bodybuilding, I've just been too lazy to really get my diet in shape. Now that I've decided to do a show, I guess I'm going to have to get serious about the diet.

As for the difference between the two pics, my bf% is about the same in them, the lighting and camera angle makes me look like my bf is higher in the second one.

Also, I'm not really a pirate so that may be why I look like I'm fatter in the second pic.

I'm still reading up a bit and haven't put together a decent diet yet. I'll post one as soon as I get one together.

Also, the 4400 cal is just an educated guess right now and may change after I do more research. I will also be on sust in the near future so hopefully the extra cal's can be put to good use.

Sounds good! You may do great with that many cals btw, I gained too much fat on about 4,000
