Instead of focusing on gear to enhance your ability on the field, try altering your training to become more specific to your task at hand.
The gear won't make you a better player, only enhance your recovery time.
When I played college ball, I was doing heavy uphill sprints, power cleans, squats, plyometrics, stretching galore and variety of heavy ass circuits.
Football is about short anaerobic explosiveness and the ability to manoeuvre as a machine.
So to sum things up, get advice on how to train different, not the juice.
