Multi-dose vial sterility??

Im using a multi-dose vial and im not sure the best way to keep it sterile in between injections??
Will the hole created by the needle make it not sterile after a while?
Using a 50ml vial eventually there will be tonnes of holes in the top??
Need info from the experienced please?

As long as you use a clean needle everytime and wipe the top with alcohol you should be fine. Now if the vial were to leak when held upside down that might be another story.

I always try to use the same penetration spot on the rubber.

Just wipe the top of the vial with an alcohol swab before each use. The pin shoulndt contaminate it because your using a new pin time, I hope.

I just always wipe with alcohol swab and use clean needles. Should be fine.

You could always buy sterile 10ml vials and swap it into them if you are worried about it.

They are fine. Your body can fight a little bacteria. If your using new pins then there isnt even an issue. You get a little cut on your fingers air hits it it all or a sudden infected and needing antibiotics.

Personally if I had a 50ml Vial i'd split it into some smaller sterile vials. Drawing an entire 50ml with 18g pins will mash the stopper up for sure.

I home brew and use only 50ml vials. Never had a problem. I follow a good Hygine protocol as suggested by other posters -

1) always wipe down the top of the vial with alcohol
2)I always use a fresh clean needle to draw.
3) wipe down your injection spot both before and after injection
4) If there is any residual oil on the stopper after drawing i make sure it is wiped away with cottonball and alcohol.

***ends what gauge needle your draw with...18g will def. tear it up unless u keep going through the same hole...i draw with 25g in my 10mls pain in the ass but w/e.

also it'll be fine, you gotta start worrying when you get like a fuzzy or hair or somthing like dirt in the vial which isnt going to go through a small hole like that. the BA in the juice will kill the bacteria, BA is nasty shit

definitely use a cleaning protocol as listed; alcohol, and clean pins - store the vial somewhere dry and dark. just FYI whenever we use multidose vials of any medication in most hospitals they are given a 30 day expiration!! for just this reason
