    Western Union!!!

Sent money under a fake name and a fake telephone number. Included "test question" so receiver doesn't have to show ID at his end.

Turns out: I had to specifically WAVE the ID requirement at his end, not just give a test question, when I placed the cash order. (Since when?)

Now: Recipient can't pick up the money, and I can't stop the money transfer because I don't have ID for the name I used, and can't call from the fake telephone number I used.

Sooo... money is forever trapped in the ether? Can't be claimed, can't be recalled?

It's all about "security", I'm told.

    Ideas from experienced users??

Im not sure what you can do about it now. But I have received money from people before and had trouble because of them using fake names. My question is WHY WHY WHY would you use a fake name? Its not illegal to send someone money...I mean thats the whole point of WU, its NOT illegal so I cant understand ever using a fake name/number etc. It serves no purpose and just causes unnecessary and ANNOYING trouble.

So honestly man just use your real name in the future, it will save you a lot of hassle.

I use a fake name because, while it is not illegal to send money through WU, it IS illegal to send money through WU to buy steroids (or for any other "illicit purpose".)

If source gets busted, why would you want a paper-trail back to yourself? Why not just put it on your credit card while you're at it!

"Oh, Mr. BigLittleTim, this is the Fed., we'd like to ask you a few questions about money transactions in which you've been involved..."
Yes but they can NEVER prove you are using WU to buy AAS. Hell he is your old time friend who needed your help paying a big phone bill. Trust me I have a friend who is a cop who advises me on some of these issues, although laws are different everywhere Im pretty sure you are safe sending money through WU without issues.

Did your friend use a fake name when he sent the money in the first place?

Should I just say: "Look, I've got this receipt, and even though I sent it under a FAKE name, this is my REAL name, and I want to change the terms of the exchange so my FRIEND can pick up money without an ID."?

I'm just afraid that it will get you on a list where your e-mails, phone records, etc. will be flagged in the future. I don't think I'm being too paranoid. Homeland Security is using the "fight against terrorism" to crack down on EVERYBODY'S business. Who's to say I wasn't sending the money to finance terrorism?

"You sent money to China/Eastern Europe/Thailand?! For what purpose? Let's keep an eye on these guys for suspicion of terrorist activities , when we really know we're just going after drug dealers, steroid users, money launderers, offshore gambling, etc. etc. "

Just letting you know why I'm reluctant to put the real John Hancock on the Western Union form.

Yes he used a fake name. I wouldn't say its a fake name. Just say you don't have id if they ask for it. It sounds less suspicious. Just go in and say is sent this money and the id was supposed to be waived can you please change it.

Doesn't e-gold require a paper-trail back to yourself, as well?

I couldn't even buy a $50 U.S. savings bond, with cash, for my niece for her christening present. I had to do it through a bank account that was linked to my Soc. Sec. Number!

(P.S. Use cash while you still can, before the govt. takes it away from us.)

Already tried that. I said I don't have my ID. He said you can't change terms of collection, or anything, in person without an ID. I can change it by phone, but I have to call from the (fake) telephone number I gave on the form. Either way I'm screwed.

Maybe I'll try it when the clueless girl comes on-duty at night...

If you were ever arrested and/or interrogated and you denied you ordered steroids, the first thing law enforcement would do is check for money wires/transfers from you to the seller.

Actually it WAS a domestic money order...

Thanks for the help. I thought I had EVERYTHING covered when I sent the money. Last time I order through the internet, I think. Respectable UGL, too.

Your right, but is it any different than having it sent to your house. They don't require an ID to send WU at least under a certain amount. Anyone could have used your name and address. That being said, I use a fake name and info too, but I've got a plan to use my ID if I had to get something back.
