good question, that album was a pile of sh*t and they didn't make themselves look very "metal" in that documentary. i am looking foward to their new album which they will be recording this year.

i agree i felt like they were kinda acting like pansy's. with the life coach and stuff. but i guess they have been through a lot. how many bands can we name that have been together and making new music for 20 + years?...hmm now that i think of it, aerosmith, rolling stones, metallica, red hot chili peppers...

Rick Rubin is producing the new album so I am sure it will be 10x better than that pile of shit St. Anger/Bob Rock crap.

    ...AND RECORDING FOR ALL
    3/14/2007 [ back ]

Metallica left the comfort of HQ this week to descend upon the greater Los Angeles area to begin recording their 9th original album. This is the first time they've recorded outside of the Bay Area since they spent an eternity at One-On-One Studios recording The Black Album in '90 and '91. The last couple days have been devoted to each band member working out the right sounds, including Lars who remembered to turn on the snare and Kirk who played a solo! The big, shiny red button was finally pushed today - and the wait begins.
