    Irritations from the gym?

Has anyone ever gotten an rash or irritation on their hands from the gym?

Last week around Wednesday I noticed a slight rash started forming on my right hand below my pinky.

Being a guy, at first I just ignored it but then it started getting worse and even spread to my left hand in between my fingers, it had a very wierd feeling to it when you touched it. I'm not sure if this is the right word for it but it was kind of sensitive and looked kinda like a burn.

Anyways, as it got worse fluid started forming under the skin and I could press down on it and I could feel the fluid move to another part of my hand. That was a freaky feeling let me tell you.

Anyways, I have not been to the gym since last Tuesday because of this. It appears to be going away now as I have no more fluid under the skin but it now feels rough as though it is calaced (sp?) and the skin is slightly brown in that area.

What the **** is this shit?

I have been putting Benadryl on it for the last 2-3 days.

Even though this is appears to be going away, I think I am going to go to the doctor because I wanna know just what in the **** it is/was.

I had to have picked it up from a DB or something, the funny thing is that it did not spread to anywhere else, just my hands. wtf?

    Any thoughts?

never on my hands but on my back if i lay on a bench with my shoulders exposed. gyms are disgusting places, i would know i used to work in one and would have to clean it. ppl dont wash their hands and they spread their germs all over the place. i always wipe down every thing i use, and then when im done workin out, i was my hands like im going into surgury.

I got ring worm once from using the locker room. Ringworm is a fungus not an actual worm. I got it on my stomach??? No clue how it got there. I never use the locker room any more. I go home to shower.

LOL. I still don't understand how it got on my stomach. I promise I was not laying down in the shower. I think it must have transferred from the towel rack to my towel to my stomach. My pharmacist said it's the same thing as athlete's foot but called ring worm when it's on the body.

Try some zinc oxide on it bro and if that doesn't work perhaps an anti-fungal cream (may be athletes foot type fungus).

If it gets worse in that time then just go see a Dr. in case its a nasty bacterial infection.

I like your avatar. Yes, I do. I used to get this crotch-rot. When I do cardio (and being on stimulants) I sweat profusely and the area between my cacks and my leg rashes up. I put a little absorbant powder there (I can't rember what it's called but a pharmacist recommended it) and that helps. I haven't got a rash this season yet dispite mucho sweating.
