    Proviron question

Have just read the profile on proviron and it says that it doesnt suppress natural test levels. Maybe I am being dumb here but couldnt work out whether it stops any test taken with it doing the same

proviron is classified as a steroid but it is more like an ancillary, an AI. It will slow down aromization (decreasing estrogen production) and it will bind up SHBG which will free up your testosterone. It does however have a slightly negative effect on your endogenous testosterone production. So it is beneficial to take with testosterone.

    Abstract

"The effect of mesterolone (1 alpha-methyl-5 alpha-dihydrotestosterone) administration to 10 normal men, aged 24-27 years, on the pituitary-testicular function was investigated. No effect on the plasma levels of interstitial cell-stimulating hormone (ICSH) and follicle stimulating hormone could be detected. After 4 weeks on 75 mg mesterolone/day a significant (p < .01) drop in the mean level of testosterone was observed, 5.2 to 4 ng/ml. After another 4 weeks on 150 mg/day a further decrease to 3.5 ng/ml was found. During mesterolone administration the protein binding of testosterone was significantly (p < .0025) reduced and it appeared that the level of free (nonprotein bound) testosterone in diluted plasma remained unchanged, .37 and .41 ng/ml, before and after mesterolone administration, respectively. These results suggest that mesterolone given in doses of 75 and 150 mg/day to normal men does not suppress the pituitary ICSH production or the testicular testosterone production."

I know there are various studies out there and the topic is "debatable" but evidence suggest a slight decrease in endogenous testosterone production.

There are conflicting studies on Proviron, like you state. There is another study (in my sig) that states its not suppressive at 150mg/ED.

The answer is to try it and see if it works for you. I like it at 25-50mg/ED during PCT, it seems to work well for me, with no suppression of T I've noted.

Suppression of natural testosterone was only shown to occur in doses at 100mg and above per day.

The average dose to increase sex drive, slow aromatization, etc. is 25-50mg per day. In studies done with that low of a dosage, natural test was not suppressed. I don't see why cruising with Proviron would be beneficial. It has zero anabolic effects whatsoever. It would just be a waste of money.

By lowering estrogen by binding to the aromotase enzyme it can infact increase natural testosterone levels. This is done by changing the androgen:estrogen ratio.

But due to Proviron being weak at combating estrogenic sides (for me anyhow), it think it would only have minimal impact at raising testosterone.

Other AI's would be better suited IMHO.
