With all this sport steroid investigations, when or if , is the sport of bodybuilding be targetted?
It's not a mainstream sport anymore, so no.
And if they did investigate, 100% of the guys on the olympia stage would be out of a job. Everyone knows they use these drugs anyhow...
thats true lol
They will start on golfers before they investigate bodybuilders.
lol i think they already did
Mabey it's just me, but the NHL is pretty quiet on the suject too, fine with me though.
i was just thinking, how can steroids help you perform better in golf, besides maybe hitting the ball stronger or farther lol
is that not an advantage? Id say when you got the worlds #1 golfer benching 315... strength is certainly playing a role in that sport. Especially with tiger setting the bar so high, you will see strength conditioning become more and more apparent in other golfers. Not hard at all to believe that some would consider juice to give em an edge. its not like they have any super strict testing policy to worry about.
I know Victor Martinez was investigated after the Signature Pharmacy deal, and he acknowledged buying testosterone, but he said that the pharmacy he used wasn't a "quality supplier" so go figure, but like I've said before you don't get to be 260+ @ <10%BF off of muscle tech stuff. It just don't happen. I'd just like to know how these pros get their hands on gear.
lol u can say that again , that would be funny to see a golfer all jacked up on gear lol
Have you ever played golf avidly? Strength has such a minimal role in driving a ball.
I'm an avid golfer and I can say that strength means nothing. When I first started golfing years ago I would try to smash and ram the thing as hard as I could. After taking some lessons from a pro golfer over the years, I stopped doing that. You quickly discover it's all about form and momentum in your swing. I hit it probably 70% LESS harder than I used to, and I can hit it 210 yards on average (8 times out of 10 on the range). It's all form and very little strength.
And the whole "ZOMG STEROIDS IN GOLF!!!11oneone" thing already began a while ago, as there was a yahoo sports article on it. Check it out here: http://www.golfdigest.com/magazine/2...lftechsteroids. Even the professional chess league has started testing it's chess players for steroids...
This shit is out of control when sports that do not benefit at all from steroids start testing people like a witch hunt...
haha it does sound like a witch hunt. its just that all kinds of people are gettin caught dopin like the cyclist, the runner, baseball players, wrestlers
Who said i was just referring to driving? Take tiger for instance, we see his greatest feats of strength when we see him hitting out of extremely thick rough or a ball that is buried in the bunker. His amazing strength allows him to carry very difficult shots like that all the way to the green.
I am a pretty big fan of golf, and im very aware that strength has very little to do with driving the ball off the tee.
The thing with AAS in golf as well is that if one were to stack on such a load of mass in a short time, it would completely ruin that player's timing and feel. For one, they need to stay relatively lean when it comes to muscle mass since the swing has to move around the body. And any increase in muscle mass, especially any quick increase in mass as seen with AAS, would have a huge negative affect on their timing. Also, any great increase in strength, especially a quick increase as with AAS, would throw off the timing as well, and golf is all about timing: when the hips, shoulders, and hands release into the ball. While strength is a great thing to have, and will play a part in all the majors (save the masters) with exiting the rough, there is no way a golfer would risk the rapid build up of strength that comes with AAS.
Tiger has put on a good amount of muslce mass since he has been on tour, but it has been a long, slow, process over 10 years! David Duval, after being #1 in the world went on a hardcore diet, he lost a lot of weight, and hasn't been in the top 10 since because he lost all his feel and timing. Golfers are too afraid of losing their feel to even try AAS.
It's just one giant retarded modern witch hunt.
This is all true, but i still dont doubt that some will try with the advancements in the sport. Just a year or two ago I had a golfer from a ranked college team ask me to supply him test e along with an oral. So i sent him to someone who could help him. Not sure how it turned out for him as far as his golf game is concerned... but my point is that some are willing to use it to get an edge, even in sports like golf..
what other sports now lol probably swimming, u need strength, u might go faster, or if ur weight is more, u lose speed.
sigh, of course its steroids have been used in swimming, how about the olympics for example? its pretty common knowlege. that would be why the IOC has doping tests for the olympics. Hell, dbol was invented for the olympics if i remember correctlyOriginally Posted by reconforce
I hope not. I don't want to watch natural bodybuilders. I want to see BIG muscleheads:-)
Without steroids the sport bodybuilding would suffer dramaticly. No one's gonna pay to see naturel b**'s.
Bro are you kidding me??? Power doesn't help in golf???? Take it from someone that hits the ball a long way. Not to flame you, but 210 yards is my stock 6 iron..yes 6 iron. My carry on my driver is about 330-337yds (as measured by a range finder) and I routinely hit the ball 350+ and yes virginia, it goes straight, or right to left if I want to draw it. Strength and explosive power is huge in golf. People don't understand that "timing" and "feel" can't be lost, they are neural impregnetions in the pre motor area. The sequencing of muscular contractions doesn't change, nor does the relative timing, however the force changes greatly with the efficiency of the motor unit(s) being recruited. But I digress, to be successful at golf, you not only need to be long (for PGA success), but your short game needs to be there, which is steroids also have an influence on. Take 2 golfers, 1 can hit his 60* wedge 100yds, the other can hit it 70 yds, so from 100 yds out, the first player can fire right at the pin with the highest lofted club in his bag, while the other has to hit a 56 or 52 degree, which has less spin, and less shapablity.
For further proof, look at Jason Zuback. The guy admitted to using steroids when he was a powerlifter and bodybuilder, and now owns multiple RE-MAX long drive championships...did I mention he is a scratch golfer???
The main thing to remember in a golf swing is swing speed, swing path, and contact area. If the swing speed is greatly increased, the ball will go much farther. So essentially a golfer who used steroids to recover from training and practice faster, and increased the explosive muscle fibers size used in his swing would hit it much farther.
It's pretty simple really.![]()
And btw, David Duval fell off because he switched teachers (to david leadbetter I believe) who switched his swing from inside out to outside in. This took him away from his signature power fade and early head movement that worked in his swing. Now he barely plays at all.
AAS make you bigger, faster, stronger and smarter.
They help in all sports, always have always will
deca would help a golfers joints, just like fast bowlers in cricket just look at shoab aktar got caught using deca
I would love to see an IFBB pro deny using gear!
Don't forget that Selig appointed Mitchell to create the report for MLB - not sure how coerced the move was, but I don't think the head of the IFBB will be doing the same.
straight from his mouth....

Will steroids help me with my needlepoint stitching?
Valid point....now I have a reason to get some
