5-htp is just amazing,changed my life.Works great.It is a building block of serotonin, which is the "happy" hormone. Low levels of serotonin are believed to be responsible for mood swings and stress,very safe as its an amino acid.

I take 100mg just before bed-time,I find it helps a little with sleep,thus at this time.
L Tryptophan is even better for me. I think 5htp is a metabolite of Tryp (they have something to do with each other).
I did not like 5htp because when I quit taking it I got VERY anxious after a few days, this happened several times.
But both work very well at making you happy and less stressed.
