    filters

    i just filterd some gear using a .45 watman filter. how do the filters remove bacteria?

    a .45 will remove particles that could cause infection, a .22 would be better for removing bacteria although it will by no means remove all bacteria, this is where benzyl alcohol comes in to action... nothing can live in benzyl alcohol so anything getting through you filters will not survive
