Thread: How many a day?

    How many a day?

I was at the grocery store buying my weekly supply of tuna, milk and chicken and the thought occurred to me 'Who else eats tuna besides individuals that workout?'

I personally like tuna but hardly anyone I know eats tuna or likes tuna. In fact most people think it is the one of the grosser things you can consume. So this begs the question who is eating the stuff besides us?

Curious how many cans you guys consume on a daily basis and a weekly basis????

I take in at least 5 cans a week and I love tuna sandwiches and tuna patties and tuna melts (which I cant have cause I'm cutting) so right now I just shovel down the crap PWO but I see your point.... unless its sushi grade or smothered in Fat (cheese, May) its pretty nasty...

I eat 1-3 cans a day, I found now that if I don't drain the water out, I can eat the tuna by the spoonful outta the can and swallow it without having to even chew it, helps with the taste

I won't eat canned tuna anymore. Once you eat fresh sashimi, you'll never want to go back. I eat maguro (red, lean tuna) several times a week and chutoro (pink, slightly fatty tuna) on cheat days. When I'm feeling particularly cheatastic, I'll eat otoro (very light pink, fatty tuna).

I do see what you are talking about. nobody buys the amount as someone who is into the sport.

I scarf down one or two cans a day. I get the Chicken of the Sea brand Chunk light tuna in water. I drain most of the water and add BBQ sauce which makes it good IMO. I just started eating it after about 9yrs of going without. It was leg day...I ate a tuna sandwich...I did Squats to failure...the tuna was all over the back parking lot of my gym. Well I guess I'm over that LOL

this is all i can find for rite now now much when i find the article i will post.Eating to much mercury causes a decrease in testosterone.Mercury lowers zinc levels, which in turn leads to lower testosterone (male hormone) levels.

High mercury: Mercury levels differ from one species of fish to the next. This is due to factors such as type of fish, size, location, habitat, diet and age. Fish that are predatory (eat other fish) are large and at the top of the food chain, and so tend to contain more mercury. Fish that contain higher levels of mercury include:

    Shark
    Ray
    Swordfish
    Barramundi
    Gemfish
    Orange roughy
    Ling
    Canned or fresh tuna
    Mackerel
    Grouper
    Tilefish
    Chilean sea bass

My granpappy once told me the secret to good tuna.....

you take a 2x4 board, a can of tuna and a fire....crap all over the board and rub the poo all around...place the tuna on the crap covered board and heat over open flame for 10 minutes. Once the tuna is a seared color, take the portion out of the flame, let stand 20 minutes....scrape the tuna off and eat the board...it is much better than the tuna....
